One of the first ships of our Vela family was the 25-meter sailing ship “Jordan” built in 1899. It was used for transporting goods and cargo. It was sunk in the Second World War in the port of Podgora.
After the war, we bought the ship “Sirena” , with which the first type of tourist transportation started. The boat was in the family for a while, and after we sold it, we bought the seine “Dva Brata”, which we later converted into a trawler.
In 1990, just before the Homeland War, we sold our share in the ship “Dva brata” and bought the 14-meter trawler “Dražen” , with which we fished in the winter and transported tourists in the summer. “Dražen” was sold in 2001, and then the new 17-meter trawler “Vittorio” came into our family, which was also used for transporting passengers and catching fish.
After the sale of the trawler “Vitorio” in 2007, we built a new modern iron ship named “David”. In the meantime, we also owned the tourist boat “Tajana” from 2015 to 2019.
The ship “David” is still in our family, and every year we maintain it and make great efforts to keep it in its full glory.
